CMC - Expertise in Methodology and Risk Management
Our team has two competitive advantages over the majority of our competitors in the business of preparing CDM projects for validation and registration: Methodology and Risk Management.
The first advantage is the fact that our two engineers are internationally known as experts in Methodology. One of them, besides being accredited by the UNO (UNFCCC - CDM Methodology Expert), is also the Energy Sector auditor for the Government of India.
Consequently, we have no problem in working with projects that do not conform to preexisting methodologies, as we can submit them to new methods when we believe there is a good chance of success. We have frequently and successfully developed new methods, which have been later approved by UNO´s CDM Executive Board of.
The second advantage is that Philippe Delhaise, CMC CEO, has spent 14 years of his life in the ratings business area, specializing in emerging markets cross-border risks. He brought to the CMC Group a risk culture that allows our technical and financial team to analyze all the risks inherent to the projects far beyond what is practiced by the other players in the market, as it is based on many factors not necessarily related to the project itself.
We use those advantages to make a rigorous selection from submitted projects, and we always offer an honest and clear opinion to the project’s promoter and/or its investors. We frequently refuse to involve ourselves in projects that have not been approved in our evaluations. Incidentally, those advantages give us the necessary self-confidence to accept payment for the majority of our services based on a success fee.
